Bring history to life with the NATIONAL EMERGENCY SERVICES MUSEUM!

What ever your class is learning about our hands-on workshops and tours offer a fun and educational day designed to teach vital life safety tips through hands-on learning with history and allow you to explore, discover and learn with our interactive exhibitions. Our team work in partnership with the emergency services to continue a high standard of learning.

How to book and what we offer...

Booking your visit with us is easy and can be done quickly with our online booking enquiry form or via contacting our education team.

The museum is open to all ages/groups with workbooks, activity sheets and our staff/volunteers available to assist with your visit.

Our Education Programme is in partnership with the emergency services and provides vital life safety workshops from CPR and First Aid to Crime and Punishment activities, Fire, Road and Water Safety.

Struggling to visit us? Or enjoyed your visit to the museum so much that you want to carry on the fun back at school? NESM is fully mobile with its out-reach programme that brings vehicles and exhibits into your classroom…

Get truly interactive and explore the day-to-day life of a firefighter and how to safely escape from a smoke filled room. Along with ‘People Who Help Us’ activities and First Aid / CPR workshops.

Are you working on projects about the emergency services both modern and historical? Would your lessons benefit by having uniforms you can try on and equipment you are encouraged to handle?

Help bring history to life by using one of our loan boxes in conjunction with your visit to the museum!

This package is designed to use our interactive exhibitions to teach safety in a truly hands-on environment and use nationally developed ‘Frances the Firefly’  to show the dangers of playing with matches and lighters.

Our Key Stage 3 programme focuses on teaching CPR, First Aid, Crime and Punishment and the dangers of drink and drugs, Fire Safety, Water Safety and Road Safety.
